A branding and campaign concept for Onkel Jens, a Norwegian-Kurdish dramedy about culture clashes, family, and identity. The film premiered in Norway in April 2025 and also screened at SXSW earlier that year.
A branding and campaign concept for Onkel Jens, a Norwegian-Kurdish dramedy about culture clashes, family, and identity. The film premiered in Norway in April 2025 and also screened at SXSW earlier that year.
approach
I built the identity around the cultural clash at the heart of the story — a Kurdish uncle moving into a Norwegian collective and disrupting their routines. Visually, I merged a Kurdish “J” with a Norwegian one to reflect this tension. The slogan “kulturkræsj i kollektivet” became a central concept. While the final campaign was executed by another designer, it was based on my logo idea, visual exploration, and early tagline.
